About the Role

As an iOS Engineer at Just Eat Takeaway, you will be a key player in shaping the future of our mobile applications. Your primary focus will be on developing and refining scalable software solutions that cater to a diverse global market.

This role requires a strong understanding of the iOS ecosystem, including proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI. You will work closely with designers to improve our mobile strategy and collaborate with application teams to implement new components or design tokens into their systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality, thoroughly tested code within a large team, adhering to excellent codebase standards.
  • Lead projects, mentor peers, and collaborate effectively, introducing innovative ideas and developing robust, well-considered code.
  • Contribute to setting and refining team standards and processes, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Pursue ongoing personal development, learning from teammates and applying knowledge to benefit the team and enhance the apps.
  • Clearly communicate technical efforts to other engineering groups.
  • Own responsibility for updates from development through to successful performance in production.
  • Regularly release updates to the app store (approximately every two weeks) and oversee these changes to ensure they perform well for users.
  • Review and approve team code changes once automated tests are passed.
  • Generate and implement creative ideas to improve the apps.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI for iOS development.
  • Experience with integration, unit, and UI tests to ensure application robustness.
  • Demonstrable deep knowledge of the iOS ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with architectural patterns such as MVP, MVVM, and MVC.
  • Strong capability in continuous integration practices and tools.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, especially Git.
  • Skills in writing clean, isolated, and reusable components for software development.
  • Proficient in using RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services.
  • Experience in enterprise tools and CI systems tailored to iOS development.
