Your Role as a Housing Arrears Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and empathetic individual to join our National Income Collections Team as a Housing Arrears Specialist. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing former tenant arrears and ensuring the smooth operation of our income collection processes.

  • Manage Arrears Cases: Effectively handle and resolve outstanding debt accounts from former tenants, utilizing your communication and negotiation skills to reach amicable solutions.
  • Collect Former Tenant Arrears: Implement strategies to recover outstanding balances, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.
  • Universal Credit Administration: Process and manage administrative tasks related to Universal Credit claims, collaborating with colleagues and external partners to ensure accurate information flow.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues within the Income Collections Team and other departments to achieve shared goals and maintain a positive working environment.

Your Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who possesses:

  • A strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A basic understanding of housing management principles and Universal Credit regulations.
  • Proficiency in using technology for customer record management and data entry.
