About the Role:

Yorkshire Water is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join our Bio-Resources department. As an Industrial Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical assets across our Energy & Recycling sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake maintenance of electrical and mechanical assets, including planned and reactive maintenance
  • Respond to emergency calls and work on call-out rota
  • Drive improvement in asset reliability through effective decision making
  • Work unsupervised in remote geographic locations and be accountable for completion of tasks within agreed timescales, quality, and cost parameters
  • Manage and prioritize workload effectively and build relationships with operational customers, colleagues, suppliers, and contract partners
  • Supervise approved Contract Partners and provide risk assessments and method statements where required
  • Use a Toughbook to capture work activity and job status in line with workflow processes
  • Assist in the development and training of apprentices and less experienced team members
  • Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plant
  • Proactively identify and report follow-on work or areas for enhancement

Requirements:

  • Recognized Electrical Craft/Technician Apprenticeship and either a City & Guilds/ ONC/ BTEC/ NVQ/ HNC/ HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Eng Tech
  • Experience and knowledge in safe isolation to current IET regulations, fault finding on control circuits up to PLC, IT literacy, MS office, and ability to produce maintenance reports
  • Experience of fault finding with industrial motors and starters, industrial 3-phase systems, and rotating equipment
  • Desirable qualifications include IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, CompEx 1 – 4, and HNC Electrical/Electronic Engineering

Working Environment:

As an Industrial Electrician, you will work in a fast-paced environment, responding to emergency calls and working on call-out rota. You will also work in remote geographic locations, often in confined spaces, and be required to pass strict medical criteria to ensure your safety.
