Project Overview:

As a Main Contractor, PSR Solutions works on projects up to £300m across the Commercial, Education, Industrial & Leisure sectors. They are currently seeking a talented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team and work on a £8m project.

Quantity Surveyor Role:

The successful candidate will be a key member of the project team, responsible for managing aspects of the commercial and contractual activities on the assigned sections of the project. This will include:

  1. Conducting comprehensive cost estimation and preparing accurate cost plans
  2. Managing subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and agreement of terms
  3. Monitoring project costs and variations, providing proactive cost advice and control measures
  4. Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and risk management
  5. Collaborating with the project team to address commercial issues and find cost-effective solutions
  6. Preparing and submitting monthly reports on project financial performance
  7. Conducting cost and value reconciliations, as well as interim and final account agreements
  8. Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, or vast experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to step up
  2. Strong background in working on projects up to the value of £20m
  3. Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  4. Chartered membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is highly desirable
  5. Thorough understanding of various forms of construction contracts
  6. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  7. A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving
