Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stoneblower Fleet Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Harsco Rail. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our Stoneblower fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance and repairs on the Stoneblower Fleet to maximize machine availability.
  • Ensure all maintenance duties are completed in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage fuel and stone deliveries, as well as waste collections.
  • Manage stock control and maintain accurate records.
  • Operate machines for maintenance purposes as required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including health and safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Time-served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline or recognized qualification as a mechanical/electrical/maintenance engineer.
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, electronic fault finding and repair.
  • IT literacy, including basic knowledge of Microsoft systems.
  • Calibration and understanding of rail plant operating.
  • Competent in current maintenance standards.
  • Able to develop working relationships internally and externally.
  • Adheres to deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Teamwork.
  • Time management.
Working Relationships
  • External: Network Rail Fleet Team, Third-party Contractors.
  • Internal: Stoneblower Field Service Manager, Stoneblower Field Supervisor, Machine Manager, Stores Team, EHS Manager, Quality Manager, Assessors/Trainers.
Health, Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

  • Inform your line manager, supervisor or health and safety representative of any unsafe occurrences.
  • Implement and comply with company standards and procedures relevant to the undertaking of Stoneblower Maintenance.
  • Only undertake work for which you have been trained and (if required) certified competent.
  • To comply with Risk Assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Maintain and utilise all PPE provided by the employer.
  • Co-operate with your employer on health, safety and environment.
  • Make safe any unsafe conditions where practical and challenge unsafe work practices.
  • Report all, and assist with investigating relevant accidents, incidents, and near misses.
