Role Overview:

As the Transport Operations Manager, you will:

  • Ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of depot operations
  • Oversee delivery and collection routes, making necessary adjustments
  • Lead and inspire your team, fostering engagement and skill development
  • Manage the fleet of vehicles (Class 2 / 7.5t) to maintain legal compliance and operational readiness
  • Hold overall responsibility for health and safety, ensuring safe practices in all operational activities
  • Coordinate the transport of waste to designated locations as per established schedules
  • Verify that all contractors possess the necessary permit-to-work documentation
  • Ensure daily vehicle checks are performed and maintenance is conducted
  • Complete all required paperwork and maintain accurate systems

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven management experience
  • Expertise in multi-drop routing
  • Knowledge of Driving Hours, Tachograph, and Working Time Regulations
  • Track record of achieving results in a logistics environment
  • Ability to enhance team performance
  • Strong administrative and Microsoft Office skills
  • Current Management CPC Qualification Card
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification or willingness to obtain promptly
  • GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications
