Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with a child in a Key Stage 2 class at an outstanding secondary school in the London borough of Hackney.

The successful candidate will have experience working with children and young people, be passionate about working with children, and be patient, caring, and engaging. They will also be enthusiastic about education, supportive and helpful in and around the classroom, and confident with Maths, Science, and English to GCSE level.

The role will entail working with a child who has mild autism and communication issues, who will always need support around the school grounds. This is a full-time position with the possibility of moving into a permanent contract should the successful candidate reach the required standard of performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the child with mild autism and communication issues in a Key Stage 2 class
  • Work on a one-to-one basis with the child to support their learning and development
  • Provide support and assistance to the child in and around the classroom
  • Be patient, caring, and engaging when working with the child
  • Be enthusiastic about education and supportive of the child's learning
