Your Role:

As a Bank Nursery Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals and desserts for the children in our care, accommodating individual dietary needs. Additionally, you will prepare meals for our in-house lunch service, ensuring that all food safety practices are followed. You will lead and mentor Kitchen Assistants, ensuring a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing balanced and nutritious meals in line with menu plans for all children.
  • Training Kitchen Assistants on health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen through daily cleaning schedules.
  • Keeping accurate records and paperwork for food safety compliance.
  • Managing stock levels and communicating needs to the Head Chef.
  • Monitoring food waste and adjusting menus based on popularity.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of catering for children's dietary requirements and nutrition legislation.
  • Understanding of local council Environmental Health standards.
  • Ability to implement relevant policies and procedures.
  • A Level 2/L3 Food Hygiene certificate is required.
  • Completion of Allergen Training is essential.
