About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthopaedic Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Orthopaedic Physiotherapy team, you will be responsible for providing advanced assessment and treatment for patients with complex orthopaedic conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced assessment and treatment for patients with complex orthopaedic conditions
  • Supervise and teach less experienced physiotherapists and students
  • Support the team lead with operational management
  • Participate in CPD, audit, and evidence-based projects
  • Contribute to the development and planning of Orthopaedic services across the Trust

Person Specification

Essential

  • Physiotherapy degree (BSc or MSc equivalent)
  • Documented evidence of self-development and relevant CPD

Desirable

  • Member of CSP or interest group
  • Postgraduate education in Orthopaedic Physiotherapy

Skills

Essential

  • Experience of working in Trauma and Elective Orthopaedics
  • Effective communication within the multidisciplinary team
  • Proven clinical skills in Orthopaedic Physiotherapy
  • Ability to manage a busy and complex caseload

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a Band 6 Physiotherapist in Orthopaedics
  • Experience of supervising and teaching less experienced staff
