This position offers you the opportunity to conduct safe and effective swimming lessons that instill confidence in individuals and equip them with essential life skills.

As a seasoned aquatic instructor, you will excel in guiding individuals to reach their fullest potential by considering each pupil's unique characteristics and requirements. A Senior Aquatic Instructor will leverage their expertise in teaching methodologies, progression strategies, and key instructional points to deliver lessons effectively, all while mentoring and supporting your team of instructors. While some administrative duties are part of the role, the majority of your time will be dedicated to your passion: teaching individuals to become proficient swimmers and leading your team to success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold a positive and professional image of the facility by providing a welcoming and supportive poolside experience for all patrons.
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of students during lessons, adhering to all relevant regulations and operational guidelines.
  • Comprehend and implement the Safeguarding Policy and Procedure, as well as the Behaviour Policy associated with the Swim School program.
  • Inspire and guide a team of instructors to deliver lessons in accordance with the product manual, ensuring a uniform approach across all sessions.
  • Oversee the coordination of swimming instructors and facilitate quality team teaching during your shifts, including managing attendance records, grouping swimmers, and maintaining appropriate ratios.
  • Mentor and develop your team, providing constructive feedback to both experienced and newly qualified instructors. Participation in Teacher Meetings and Training sessions is essential.
  • Monitor attendance and track student progress accurately, ensuring that pupils achieve relevant awards in line with established standards.
  • Assist with the enrollment and re-enrollment processes as directed by management.
  • Encourage students to participate in additional courses and short-term programs.
