GLL is seeking dedicated Senior Aquatic Instructors to lead swimming programs. As a Senior Aquatic Instructor, you will play a vital role in enhancing the swimming abilities of our clients while also mentoring a team of instructors. This position offers the opportunity to provide safe and effective swimming lessons that instill confidence and essential life skills in participants.

In this role, your experience as a swimming instructor will be crucial in helping individuals reach their swimming goals. You will consider each participant's unique characteristics and requirements. A Senior Aquatic Instructor will utilize their expertise in teaching methodologies, progression strategies, and key teaching points to deliver impactful lessons while guiding and supporting your team of instructors. While some administrative tasks are involved, the majority of your time will be dedicated to teaching and leading your team to achieve excellence.

We are looking for Senior Aquatic Instructors who are approachable and possess the friendly, patient demeanor necessary to build trust, motivate participants, and encourage progress through positive reinforcement. Candidates should hold a valid STA Certificate or Swim England Level 2 qualification, and ideally, possess the National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches. A solid understanding of health, safety regulations, and relevant legislation is essential, along with knowledge of Child Protection Policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold a positive image of the organization by providing a welcoming and professional service to clients.
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of participants during lessons, adhering to all relevant regulations.
  • Comply with the Safeguarding Policy and Procedure as well as the Behavior Policy outlined in the Swim School framework.
  • Lead and inspire a team of instructors to deliver lessons consistently in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Oversee the coordination of swimming instructors and facilitate effective team teaching during shifts, including managing attendance and swimmer groupings.
  • Mentor and develop your team, providing constructive feedback and guidance to both experienced and newly qualified instructors. Participation in Teacher Meetings and Training sessions is expected.
  • Monitor attendance and track participant progress to assist them in achieving relevant awards.
  • Support the enrollment process for new and returning participants as directed by management.
  • Encourage participants to pursue additional courses and short programs.
