Position Overview:
GLL is seeking a dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This role involves working full-time, 40 hours per week, over a span of four days. The compensation will be adjusted according to the length of the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to design and engage in group activities tailored to the developmental stages and interests of children, ensuring adherence to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Act as a primary caregiver for designated children, fostering nurturing relationships with both the children and their families to enhance learning and development.
- Encourage parental involvement in their child's educational journey through regular communication, documentation, and participation in review meetings.
- Support and respect each child's cultural background and language, contributing to plans for children with English as an additional language to facilitate their language acquisition.
- Contribute to creating a dynamic, secure, and inclusive learning environment that promotes diversity and equal opportunities for all children and their families.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children in both indoor and outdoor settings, including during excursions, to promote their learning experiences.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Child Development or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with children under five years of age.
- Proven ability to plan and support play activities based on evidence-based practices outlined in the EYFS.
- Understanding of safeguarding protocols and the EYFS framework.
- Familiarity with Ofsted requirements and frameworks.
- Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds and providing for children with special needs.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices affecting the delivery of holistic support services for young children and families.
- Strong understanding of equality and diversity principles.
