Position Overview

Recruit Central Limited is seeking a skilled Powertrain Electronic Systems Engineer to join our Electronics European Engine Systems Team. This team is dedicated to the design and execution of Electrical and Electronic control systems for powertrains. With the growing demand for advanced electronic systems across our product lineup, the successful candidate will engage in diverse electronic system projects aimed at fulfilling both regulatory standards and customer expectations.

This role serves as the primary technical resource for the Engine Electronic systems. The responsibilities will include collaborating with fellow Electronics team members and development partners throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from initial development to post-production support:

  • Contribute to the definition of system architecture along with related diagrams and schematics.
  • Assist in selecting appropriate electronic components.
  • Engage in failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and validation processes for electronic systems and components, while enhancing validation test plans.
  • Provide technical assistance for inquiries regarding pinouts, schematic details, and software functionality.
  • Investigate, analyze, and troubleshoot any reported quality concerns.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree-qualified engineer with several years of post-graduation experience in various systems engineering tasks related to the development of electronic engine, machinery, or automotive control systems. Alternatively, a relevant HNC/NVQ level 4 with additional pertinent experience.
  • Proven expertise in:
    • System integration activities for troubleshooting and electronic system design, including PWM, analog, and communication signals, along with experience in integrating electronic components.
    • Gathering and refining detailed electronic-related customer requirements, leading to the creation of technical specifications.
    • Defining electronic features and overseeing their development by other teams.
    • Conducting system verification testing for components and software features.
    • Participating in FMEA development.
  • Comprehension of internal combustion engines and their control mechanisms.
  • Ability to foster strong collaborative relationships, both locally and within a global team.
