Job Title: Geophysical Engineer Level 1

Fugro GB Ltd, a leading provider of geophysical and hydrographic survey services, is seeking a highly skilled Geophysical Engineer to join our team. Based at our waterfront office in Portchester, UK, you will be responsible for the mobilisation and operation of geophysical and hydrographic survey equipment, including acquisition and quality control of data onboard nearshore and offshore survey vessels in north-west Europe and occasionally worldwide.

Responsibilities
  • Travel to port of crew change/mobilisation
  • Handover day with off-signing engineer, project presentation, vessel induction, Equipment mobilisation.
  • During good weather: deployment of equipment, acquisition of geophysical data
  • During poor weather: recovery and maintenance of geophysical equipment, procedure and documentation review and update
Requirements
  • A qualification in geophysics, engineering, or closely-related subject is essential.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in geophysics or an engineering discipline, or closely-related subject, is desirable but not essential.
  • Good verbal and written English language skills.
  • Good computer literacy.
  • An ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients.
  • Confidence working under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • A high attention to detail, quality and safety.
  • Able to work offshore for periods of up to 4 weeks.
  • Ability to pass offshore medical (OGUK) and offshore Sea Survival.
