Job Title: Vehicle Technician

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team at East of England Ambulance Service. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our ambulances are in top condition, ready to respond to emergencies at a moment's notice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on ambulances, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, such as engine problems and electrical system malfunctions.
  • Work with our team to ensure that all vehicles are properly serviced and maintained, meeting the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Participate in a 24-hour breakdown service, responding to emergency calls and performing repairs on the road.
  • Collaborate with our fleet management team to ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and up-to-date with the latest safety features.
Requirements:
  • C1 License category (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Extensive post-apprenticeship experience in vehicle mechanical engineering
  • NVQ 2 in Vehicle Maintenance Repair (Light Vehicle) or equivalent qualification
