Quality Assurance Technician
Up to £35,000 per annum, Permanent, Mon - Fri 38 hour week, no shifts, 33 days holiday, Pension, Parking

A well-established manufacturer specializing in a diverse range of components and parts is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician or Quality Control Specialist. This position provides an excellent opportunity for further training and professional development to enhance your existing quality expertise and gain Health & Safety knowledge, facilitating your career advancement. The role reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality assessments and implement procedures in accordance with ISO9001 quality standards.
  • Perform visual and physical inspections using tools such as calipers and verniers, including first-off checks and random spot inspections of various manufactured products.
  • Oversee the management of non-conforming products within the production facility.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, for documentation and reporting purposes.
  • Receive ongoing support from an external consultant to prepare for external quality audits.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Production Manager, team leaders, and operational staff.
  • Participate in daily meetings and provide regular updates to management.
  • Ensure accuracy in Goods Out processes and engage in monthly stock assessments from a quality standpoint.
  • Long-term Health & Safety responsibilities will be integrated into the role, with training and certification provided by the company to support career growth.
  • Analyze trends, address isolated issues, and identify opportunities for improvement through root cause analysis.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role.
  • Background in high-volume production settings.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and systems.
  • Strong visual inspection and basic measurement skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work within strict timelines.
  • Experience with daily and weekly reporting.
