Senior Residential Child Care Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Residential Child Care Worker to join our residential team in our highly successful academy. The residential provision holds Outstanding Ofsted status, and we are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for our students.
About the RoleThe primary role of a Senior Residential Child Care Worker is to support students from the point of leaving school, during the evening and until the following morning when they go back off to school. This post involves formal supervision of designated staff and requires a high level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Support students with their daily routines, including healthy snacks, activities, and homework
- Encourage students to participate in physical activities and engage in educational pursuits
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting positive relationships and a sense of belonging
- Work collaboratively with the residential team to ensure a safe and supportive environment
- Participate in the development and implementation of individualized care plans
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working with adolescents, preferably with SEMH
- NVQ Level 3 in Child/Young Persons Care
- Ability to administer medication and provide first aid
- Supervisory/shift lead experience
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act and NMS for residential special schools
- Good knowledge of First Aid and ability to use clear language to communicate information unambiguously
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and adapt to changing circumstances
- Working 39 weeks per year (during school term time), with paid prorated holiday and pay for the remaining 13 weeks of the year
