Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Location: Hybrid Role

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

Omni, a leading provider of industrial solutions across various sectors including Oil & Gas, Energy, and Construction, is seeking compliance experts to enhance their operations.

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will be an integral part of a dedicated team, focusing on ensuring adherence to compliance protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to oversee, assess, and improve the Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) process.
  • Manage the comprehensive process of addressing data subject requests in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
  • Refine internal documentation and communication regarding the data subject request process, clarifying responsibilities across departments and optimizing the handling of requests to align with UK data protection laws.
  • Review existing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs), suggest enhancements, and track the execution of approved recommendations.
  • Simplify internal assessment processes and documentation, including Data Security Checklists, Consent Checklists, DPIAs, and LIAs.
  • Assist the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in promoting the significance of data security compliance throughout the organization, including creating internal communications and content for the intranet.

Key Experience:

  • In-depth understanding of current and forthcoming UK data protection regulations, including the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and Privacy and Electronic Communication Regulations (PECR).
  • Familiarity with information security best practices, such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
