About the Role
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the daily inspection and maintenance of production machinery, including rectifying mechanical faults and undertaking regular maintenance in line with the maintenance schedule. The successful candidate will work as part of a small team of Engineers to maintain equipment and minimize machine downtime, ensuring maximum productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Safely
The Maintenance Engineer will ensure that the machinery is maintained in line with required health, safety, environmental, hygiene, and housekeeping standards. They will also ensure that colleagues working on the press are operating in a safe way and are aware of and understand the required operating standards.
Monitor RecordsThe Maintenance Engineer will monitor records of all faults, fabrication of parts, and safety devices. They will also support the installation of new machinery and work effectively with external contractors as required.
Support InstallationThe Maintenance Engineer will support the installation of new machinery and work effectively with external contractors as required.
Ensure Safety StandardsThe Maintenance Engineer will ensure that all machines are operating to the expected safety standards in line with their given parameters.
Test and InspectThe Maintenance Engineer will test and inspect machines and equipment and work with colleagues to eliminate production problems.
Carry Out Routine MaintenanceThe Maintenance Engineer will carry out routine maintenance checks on all machinery in line with the site maintenance schedule and relevant Health and Safety regulations.
Conduct Machine MaintenanceThe Maintenance Engineer will conduct machine maintenance to the highest standard and report any issues promptly. They will apply fixes where possible and assist with putting in place preventative maintenance measures to minimize the occurrence of machine breakdowns.
Respond to BreakdownsThe Maintenance Engineer will respond to machine breakdowns promptly, undertaking fault finding and fixing breakdowns where possible.
Work with ColleaguesThe Maintenance Engineer will work with colleagues across Production and other areas to ensure that all print machines and other equipment are running to their targeted output.
Maintain Engineering DocumentationThe Maintenance Engineer will help maintain engineering documentation, including maintenance records, operating procedures, and work instructions.
Assist with Workshop MaintenanceThe Maintenance Engineer will assist with the upkeep of the engineering workshop, ensuring stock and stock records are maintained correctly. In the absence of the Engineering Manager, they will liaise with Purchasing to order machine parts from suppliers.
Stay Up-to-DateThe Maintenance Engineer will keep up to date on relevant machine technology and engineering best practices, undertaking ongoing training as and when required.
