Fleet Manager Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Manager to join our client's team in Chesterfield. As a key member of the Logistics & Operations departments, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day fleet maintenance programme, ensuring full compliance with all statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the O Licence holder for secondary transport, ensuring compliance with vehicle maintenance and driver records.
  • Develop effective distribution fleet procedures and standards in line with group guidelines.
  • Manage repair and maintenance contractors to ensure legal compliance and regularly audit their performance.
  • Develop and manage a KPI process to proactively manage fleet performance.
  • Conduct regular fleet audits on contractor vehicles to ensure compliance with group guidelines.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of issues involved in managing a transport fleet, both in-house and contracted.
  • Technical knowledge of processes and systems associated with LPG distribution.
  • Certificate of Professional Competence in road transport.
  • Membership of a relevant transport professional body (optional but should be working towards).
  • Holder of Class 2 minimum LGV licence required; ADR qualification.
