The CNC Machining Specialist plays a crucial role in programming, setting up, and operating CNC Milling Machines to manufacture high-precision components, particularly within the aerospace sector, with a focus on multi-axis machining and ongoing process enhancement.


Key Responsibilities:

CNC Programming:
Develop programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC Milling Machines utilizing Fanuc and Sinumerik controls.

Offline Programming:
Implement EDGECAM for offline programming to optimize machining efficiency and accuracy.

Machine Setup & Production:
Configure machines, produce initial components, and ensure adherence to all specifications and tolerances.

Documentation:
Generate comprehensive machine setup documentation to ensure consistency and facilitate future operations.

Process Improvement:
Keep abreast of the latest technologies, propose innovative processes, and enhance machining methodologies.

Project Management:
Work collaboratively with management to achieve production targets and proactively address potential challenges.

Technical Support:
Assist in devising technical solutions for production-related issues.

Quality Assurance:
Collaborate with Engineering and Quality Assurance teams to maintain high-quality standards and compliance with established procedures.

Housekeeping:
Ensure a clean and organized workspace.

Team Support:
Provide guidance and mentorship to team members as necessary.

Health & Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all Health and Safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.

Additional Duties:
Undertake other related responsibilities as required.

Experience & Skills:

Essential:
Significant experience in CNC programming, setting, and operation, preferably within the aerospace industry.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM offline programming using EDGECAM.
Familiarity with 3, 4, and 5-axis machines.
Capability to edit programs using Fanuc and Sinumerik controls.
Competence in interpreting engineering drawings and utilizing precision measuring instruments.
Knowledge of Metric and Imperial measurement systems.
Strong computer skills and a methodical approach to work.
