About the Role

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Emergency Practitioner to join our established Urgent Treatment Centre Team. As an Emergency Practitioner, you will work alongside General Practitioners to provide care to patients attending the hospital with urgent healthcare needs.

Main Responsibilities

Our Emergency Practitioners are skilled in history taking, physical assessment, diagnostic interpretation, and treatment of a wide range of injury and illness presentations. They work predominantly independently but have access to all internal and external referral routes and the support of our co-located emergency department colleagues.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse, Paramedic, Physiotherapist
  • Recognised EP Qualification at minimum Degree Level or equivalent
  • Minor Injuries and Minor Illnesses Course at Level 6/7
  • Substantial experience in Urgent and Emergency Care
  • Teaching research/evidence-based practice
  • Experience in working with junior colleagues to support their growth and development
  • Experience of working independently and as part of a team to manage patients with undifferentiated healthcare needs
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to manage difficult situations effectively

Desirable Qualifications

  • BSc Hons in Emergency Care / MSc / PgCert
  • Independent nurse prescribing or working towards independent prescribing at MSc Level
  • Non-Medical Prescribing (essential in experienced ENP's)
  • Mentorship/Teaching qualification
