Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and resilient individual to assist students with behavioural difficulties within a secondary school in Newport. As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will play a critical role in helping students overcome social obstacles and achieve academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural difficulties to assist with social and academic success.
- Foster a strong bond with students to establish a positive relationship and maintain trust.
- Initiate behavioural coping mechanisms that help students make good choices and reflect on their actions.
- Ensure safeguarding regulations are maintained throughout the school day.
- Contribute to creating a calm and conducive learning environment by promptly and effectively handling any disruptions.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children/young people who have had behavioural management needs is desirable.
- DBS and Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration is needed – Teaching Personnel can assist you with applying for these.
