Job Summary

Certain Advantage is seeking a skilled Building Surveyor to join our team in the Dorset region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical surveying services and contract management for a defined planned maintenance programme across the region.

Main Responsibilities
  • Planned Maintenance Delivery: Oversee the delivery of planned maintenance through external contractors, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of works.
  • Minor Works and Refurbishment: Manage minor works and refurbishment projects, including repairs and void surveying, to maintain the quality and safety of our properties.
  • Health and Safety: Develop and implement health and safety programmes, including fire safety initiatives, to ensure a safe working environment for our customers and staff.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers, including homeowners, leaseholders, and market rent customers, to understand and anticipate their needs.
  • Contract Management: Manage procurement processes, performance management, and project coordination to ensure effective delivery of contracts and programmes.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in surveying and contract management in the social housing sector, with a strong understanding of building and maintenance legislation.
  • Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize, organize, and deliver to challenging targets. Strong commercial awareness and understanding of financial and contractual considerations.
  • Qualifications: Current full driving license or ability to travel around the local vicinity. Experience of monitoring works budgets of up to £500k.
Working Arrangements

You will work from Monday to Thursday out in our communities, with Friday typically being an admin meeting day. You will be required to work flexibly and occasionally undertake work outside normal office hours.
