Job Purpose:

The Product Management team at Global Relay is responsible for executing product strategy, prioritizing and aligning roadmaps, and researching and defining enhancements and upgrades to our services. They ensure that our services solve important and urgent market problems. As a Program Manager, you will play a critical role in managing multiple development projects, identifying and managing interdependencies between project teams and stakeholders, and ensuring that cross-project work effort remains feasible and delivers business value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in project planning and coordination for the delivery of larger cross-team initiatives, working with product management on scope and with component teams on delivery approach and phasing.
  • Compile work estimates and planning assumptions with component teams, socializing overall target milestones based on work estimates and assumptions.
  • Identify and coordinate cross-component and cross-product line dependencies throughout the development life cycle, tracking key project gates to completion.
  • Work closely with component teams and integration testing environment owners to ensure readiness of environments and effective alignment/co-ordination across teams for integration tests.
  • Remove obstacles blocking progress, ensuring releases and initiatives are tracking to schedule, escalating to engineering management or senior program management as appropriate.
  • Proactively identify and manage delivery risks in accordance with Global Relay's risk management framework.
  • Track progress against target completion dates using Jira and other tools, resolving issues that impact plans with component teams and senior program management.
  • Report on progress at project-specific and company-wide meetings in accordance with Global Relay's project and program management framework.
  • Acquire a high-level understanding of the design, business logic, and technical architecture of relevant products, becoming a subject matter expert for priority initiatives.
  • Champion process improvements, including those that improve project predictability, identifying opportunities to streamline and provide visibility into critical cross-component delivery activities.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent in engineering, computer science, or other technical field.
  • Experience in full lifecycle software development project management, including planning, monitoring, managing risks and issues, and reporting on project status.
  • Experience with project delivery using Agile, Scrum, and hybrid development methodologies.
  • Experience driving cross-team initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization, including working with remote teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Strong organizational, planning, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
  • Experience with SaaS, messaging platform(s), or data integration for enterprise markets (desirable).

Desirable Skills:

  • One or more agile/project management qualifications, e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP), Prince2 Practitioner.
