Key Responsibilities:
- HR Operations:
- Manage day-to-day HR operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
- Collaborate with senior management to understand the organisation's goals and objectives, translating these into HR priorities.
- Monitor HR metrics and KPIs to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Employee Relations:
- Act as a primary point of contact for employee queries and issues, providing robust guidance and support.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, and performance issues.
- Promote a positive work environment and culture through effective communication and engagement initiatives.
- Talent Management:
- Support the Talent Acquisition Manager with the recruitment process, including creating and reviewing job descriptions, shortlisting and conducting interviews where appropriate.
- Develop and implement talent management and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
- Oversee the onboarding processes, ensuring new hires are effectively integrated into the Company.
- Identify skill gaps and develop training and development programs to address these needs.
- Performance Management:
- Manage the performance appraisal process, providing guidance and support to managers and employees.
- Develop and implement performance improvement plans for underperforming employees.
- Facilitate regular performance reviews and ensure consistent and fair evaluation practices.
- Compliance and Employment Law:
- Ensure compliance with all UK employment laws and regulations, including GDPR, and equality and diversity legislation.
- Keep abreast of legislative changes and advise the business accordingly.
- Conduct regular audits of HR processes and policies to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Policy Development:
- Develop, implement, and review HR policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and in line with best practices.
- Provide training and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies across the organisation.
- HR Projects:
- Lead and participate in HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement surveys, and organisational change projects.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of HR projects.
- Reporting:
- Prepare and present HR metrics and reports to the Managing Director and Board of Directors, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Analyse HR data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of HR information.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: CIPD qualified (Level 5 or above).
- Experience: Proven experience in a similar HR managerial role, preferably within a group or multi-site organisation.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attributes:
- Proactive, self-sufficient, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
