About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Family Support Worker to join our team at Barnardo's Atebion Family Support Service in Bridgend. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing bespoke support to families affected by disability, empowering them to build resilience and coping strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with children, young people, and their families to identify needs and achieve positive outcomes through direct work and support.
  • Partner with parents/carers to empower them and enable them to achieve better outcomes for their children.
  • Collaborate with healthcare agencies and statutory services to provide effective support for families.
  • Contribute to service development and improvement.
  • Apply safeguarding and child protection procedures.
What We're Looking For
  • An understanding and empathy for the issues facing vulnerable children, young people, and their families.
  • Experience of working with children, young people, and their families.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Additional Information

Please note that this role is fixed-term due to funding, and we hope to continue the post if funding is confirmed. The role is based in Bridgend, South Wales, and we require the successful candidate to be able to work on-site.
