Finegreen is supporting a large NHS organisation in the appointment of a new role for the organisation, this is due to expansion of their Sterile Services and Decontamination offering.

The Sterile Services Department is responsible for the full decontamination and sterilization of medical devices and the disinfection of endoscopes and other non-invasive products. They are a quality registered organisation with the following Quality accreditations, ISO 13485 and UKCA Annex 5, Part 2 Regulation 14.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Training and Quality Management: Coordinate training programmes for decontamination personnel, manage paperwork and databases associated with Quality Systems and decontamination equipment.
  2. Compliance and Assurance: Ensure efficient and effective day-to-day training, compliance, and quality assurance requirements of the department, delivering the highest quality of service.
  3. Policy Implementation: Work to implement Trust and local policy into local working practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and good practice guidelines.
  4. Quality Management System: Assist senior management in managing and maintaining the department's ISO 13485 Quality Management System (QMS) and UKCA Regulations, ensuring all associated paperwork is maintained and current.
  5. Database Development: Set up and develop databases to support an electronic QMS and provide analytical reports on the data produced.
  6. Reporting and Analysis: Assist in the delivery of customer reports based on activity and financial information as directed by the senior management team.
  7. Leadership and Change Management: Support senior management in providing effective and efficient leadership for the service, assisting with the introduction of change within the service.
  8. Training Delivery: Directly deliver or facilitate the delivery of training programmes for SSD personnel within the Trust, ensuring training files are maintained and assisting to develop and maintain an electronic database.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Educated to Master's degree level or equivalent acquired through training and experience.
  2. Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge of decontamination processes and ISO and equivalent standards relevant to a decontamination facility, with 3 years' experience of working within Sterile Services department(s) and supervising staff and working with a Quality Management System.
