Cost Estimator – Plymouth

An exciting opportunity has emerged to join a prominent construction main contractor for a distinctive and exceptional project in the area.

As a Cost Estimator with this esteemed contractor, you will assume commercial accountability for the phase/section/package, including internal package procurement and financial reporting, ensuring alignment with project goals.

This contractor engages in a diverse array of projects involving new builds and refurbishments across sectors such as Education, Health, Defence, Leisure, and Hospitality.



Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the formulation of package commercial strategies, integrating deliverables and financial targets into package scopes and pricing documents.
• Provide support to the project team with commercial and contractual insights.
• Aid the procurement team in generating package procurement documents as necessary, ensuring streamlined and effective procurement processes.
• Evaluate, review, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
• Enforce policies for risk management.
• Prepare Subcontract Final Accounts for assessment and approval.
• Compile and present monthly Cost Reports.
• Assess works completed by Sub-Contractors.
• Certify interim and final payments.

Essential Skills:
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in quantity surveying roles within the construction sector.
• Strong comprehension of contract administration, procurement, and change management processes.
• Proficiency in Excel and project management software.
• Valid driving license.
