About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated teaching assistant to join our team as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) cover. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to support teaching and learning across our school, covering multiple classes and providing PPA cover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Teaching and Learning: Assist classroom teachers in delivering high-quality education to our students, leading and delivering planned learning activities under their guidance.
  • Individual Support: Provide one-to-one or small group support to students, including those with additional educational needs, ensuring their individual learning needs are met effectively.
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons, utilizing expertise to enhance learning experiences and engage students.
  • Progress Tracking: Support the assessment and tracking of student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the overall evaluation of learning outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth and development.
Requirements
  • Experience: Relevant experience working in an educational setting, ideally as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or with experience in a similar role.
  • Qualifications: Qualified to at least Level 4 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (e.g., HLTA qualification).
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies to support student learning.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning in a dynamic school environment.
