Job Description

Job Title: Domestic Abuse Early Responder

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional to join our team as a Domestic Abuse Early Responder. As a key member of our team, you will engage with perpetrators of domestic abuse in police custody, providing a critical intervention service to discuss their offending behavior and promote positive change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with DA perpetrators in police custody to discuss their offending behavior and promote positive change.
  • Build positive relationships with offenders and work directly with them to reduce risks and prevent further harm through DA offending.
  • Produce DA offender risk management plans based on assessments and ensure that the DA perpetrator understands the consequences of their DA offending behavior.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to ensure that increases in risk of harm are escalated rapidly and a multi-agency plan is in place.
  • Deliver a holistic support service as the situation dictates, prioritizing the safety of victims and families.

Requirements:

  • Proven record of working with perpetrators or victims of domestic abuse and offenders.
  • Collaborative, compassionate, and target-driven approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with offenders and promote positive change.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
