The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Rail Distribution Manager to join our team at our Torr Works site, one of the largest limestone super quarries in Europe. Following a significant investment in the site, we are now looking to expand our team and streamline processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the haulage of 5.5 million tonnes of product from site, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Direct management responsibility for a team of 16 members across the Weighbridge and rail department.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity within the department.
- Liaise with third-party logistics hauliers to ensure seamless transportation of products.
- Manage the inspection and maintenance schedules for the 14 miles of rail track onsite.
Requirements
- Proven experience in rail compliance and logistics management.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
