About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our team at Kent County Council. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality social work services to children and families across the county.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective social work plans to support children and families in need.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, statutory agencies, and voluntary sector partners to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and managers on social work practice and policy.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training and development programs for social workers.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to less experienced colleagues, promoting best practice and supporting their professional development.
Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with a degree in social work (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Significant post-qualification experience of working with children and families, including systemic practice and legislative and policy frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues, statutory agencies, and voluntary sector partners.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including travel across the county and occasional evening or weekend work.
  • Full UK driving license (or willingness to obtain).
