Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days remote)

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Library Support Specialist.

The Library Enquiry Team serves as essential research partners for the accountancy sector, and we are looking for someone with a proactive attitude to assist in the operation of this esteemed multi-channel enquiry service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide crucial administrative assistance to the enquiry team, including logging enquiries, managing postal loans, and overseeing document delivery requests.
  • Uphold exceptional customer service standards while serving as the first point of contact for library enquiries via various channels, including email, webchat, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • Engage in addressing routine enquiries, with opportunities to advance to more complex research inquiries.
  • Utilize a diverse range of sources—both print and digital—to effectively respond to enquiries.
  • Manage overdue loans and update user records in the library catalog.
  • Retrieve and shelve physical materials from the library and off-site storage.
  • Participate in promotional initiatives and campaigns.
  • Adapt to changing responsibilities as needed to meet business requirements.

Travel Requirements:

This role necessitates regular travel (approximately monthly) to the library's off-site storage facility.

Candidate Profile:

Essential Qualifications:

  • A solid educational background complemented by practical library experience.
  • Ability to perform routine tasks methodically and with high accuracy.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, demonstrating a commitment to outstanding service.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Capability to file and shelve materials according to established procedures.
  • Physical ability to lift and move reasonable quantities of books and journals.
  • Proficiency with advanced information and communication technologies, including integrated systems and MS Office applications.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A recognized qualification in library or information science.
  • Familiarity with Universal Decimal Classification.
  • Experience using online business research databases.
