Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Interim Director: Group Financial Control Specialist to join our team at Brewer Morris. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and guidance to our clients in the insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the production of group financial statements, strategic reports, and subsidiary statutory accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Manage the year-end statutory accounts process, ensuring the group is compliant with all relevant accounting technical pronouncements and standards.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze and comment on financial performance of various group entities, identifying and reporting on risk and uncertainties.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the wider finance function and business functions to perform process and control improvements, ensuring efficient and effective financial operations.
  • Audit Management: Manage the company's audit process end-to-end, ensuring efficient and timely completion of interim and year-end audits.
  • Insurance Returns: Oversee the preparation of insurance returns and tax computations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Claims Payment Process: Improve and automate the claims payment process, ensuring efficient and effective financial operations.
  • Leadership: Lead a team of 5 people, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of financial objectives.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) and up-to-date knowledge of relevant insurance/financial service specific regulations.
  • Experience: Extensive experience working within the insurance sector, preferably with a complex group function.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
