Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Supervisor to join our team at the Culina Group. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the 24/7 transport operations, managing a team of transport supervisors, and supporting the transport manager in ensuring that costs are controlled in line with budget/forecast expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor loading of trailers against scheduled timings and report on any issues faced by loaders, such as equipment problems, late-arriving stock, or picking issues.
  • Manage yard shunt requirements, including equipment types and bays, via a daily plan based on internal reports.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including load fill, load time adherence, timely departure from site, and arrival of collections on site.
  • Report on late departures/collection arrivals to the dispatch manager.
  • Scrutinize and monitor the accuracy of paperwork sent with loads.
  • Take information from yard checks regarding VOR and trailer availability to ensure the plan can be carried out.
  • Daily administration of employee records, including holidays, sickness, and return-to-work procedures.
  • Ensure relevant data systems are up to date and correct for onward delivery (ASNs, booking references, etc.).

Requirements

  • Significant knowledge and experience of tachograph/driving rules and regulations.
  • CPC National desirable but not essential.
  • Previous management/supervisory experience.
  • The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Attention to detail/accuracy.
  • Planning and organizing skills, high level of numeracy.
  • Excellent communication skills to deliver accurate information.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.
