About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at Dräger. As a key member of our Health and Safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees, visitors, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely, practical, and professional occupational health and safety advice to management and employees.
  • Develop and promote a positive health and safety culture within the organization.
  • Assist in the promotion, development, and review of our accredited safety management system (ISO).
  • Facilitate the generation and review of risk assessments.
  • Deliver internal health and safety training courses.
  • Undertake health and safety inspections independently and in conjunction with line management.
  • Assist with the incident investigation process, including receiving and investigating reports of adverse events and working with management to determine their causes and make recommendations for prevention.
  • Maintain the tracking system for recording, reporting, investigating, and actioning adverse events, risk assessments, inspections, and tours.
  • Maintain the health and safety intranet site and generate periodic reports and presentations on performance.
  • Deputise for the Head of Health and Safety as necessary.

  • Ensure and promote safe working conditions for all employees, visitors, and contractors by implementing, monitoring, and complying with occupational health and safety provisions.

Reporting Relationships

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Health and Safety UK/I.

Size of Team/Environment

The role will be part of a close team of 3 people based within the Blyth facility.

Role Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience in an industrial background in an H&S advisory role.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment, inspection, audit, and systems management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to persuade and influence others at all levels within the company.
