Exciting Opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor Apprentice

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor Apprentice to join our team at Michael Page (UK). As a Quantity Surveyor Apprentice, you will play a key role in overseeing a portfolio of Repairs and Maintenance contracts, working closely with our site team to ensure the smooth administration of the contract from start-up through to final account.

About the Role
  • Interpret and understand the respective obligations, responsibilities, and liabilities of the parties to the contract, providing advice and guidance to the site team as needed.
  • Be aware of and understand what documents comprise the contract, and be fully briefed on the contract estimate, including settlement adjustments.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that all site staff adhere to agreed site procedures and reporting systems.
  • Prepare and produce all agreed reports to predetermined deadlines.
  • Deliver the project to the Client's satisfaction, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure the smooth administration of the contract.
  • Delegate and allocate Quantity Surveying tasks to Assistant Quantity Surveyors, setting objectives and monitoring their progress.
  • Attend site meetings and contribute to the resolution of commercial, contractual, and construction problems.
  • Protect the Company's commercial interests by pursuing prompt payment for work executed.
Requirements
  • Experience working with NEC Option A.
  • Extensive experience working within a social housing contractor.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Conscientious.
  • Good commercial acumen.
