We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Policy Planner to join our client\u2019s dynamic team in the HTP sector. As a Senior Policy Planner, you will play a key role in contributing to significant projects and influencing policy development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor the Planning Service and produce reports, including monitoring the Local Plan.
  • Provide up-to-date advice on planning policy issues.
  • Conduct research related to planning policy.
  • Assist in preparing local development plan policies, supplementary planning documents, and other local development documents.
  • Undertake planning monitoring and produce reports, such as the Authority Monitoring Report, Annual Infrastructure Funding Statement, and five-year housing land supply statement.
  • Provide comprehensive planning policy advice to development management officers, officers in other departments, and council members.
  • Carry out site visits and attend meetings related to planning policy and future development issues.
  • Guide and support communities considering or preparing neighbourhood plans.
Requirements:
  • Experience in town planning and planning policy.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing reports and drafting policies.
  • Ability to keep up to date with national and local planning legislation, policy, and guidance.
  • Capability to manage and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Experience using GIS systems to create policy maps.
  • Ability to provide guidance to junior team members.
  • Strong communication skills for providing policy advice and information to various stakeholders.
