Position Overview:
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Psychological Support Assistant located at the Three Towns Resource Centre. This role will be divided into two parts: you will dedicate 18.75 hours (0.5 WTE) to the Forensic Psychological Specialty Team and 18.75 hours (0.5 WTE) to the Digital Therapies Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Forensic (18.75 hours, 0.5 WTE): This role will be situated at Ayrshire Central Hospital. You will enhance and support the professional psychological care provided to patients within specialized services, delivering psychological assessments and interventions under the guidance of a qualified Principal Clinical Psychologist. You will operate independently based on a job plan established with a qualified Psychologist, adhering to the service's policies and procedures.
Your responsibilities will also include assisting with clinically-related administrative tasks, conducting audits, gathering statistics, and contributing to the development of audit and/or research projects, as well as teaching and project work. You will receive support from a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and collaborate with experienced Psychologists as part of the Forensic Psychological Specialty within NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
Digital Therapies (18.75 hours, 0.5 WTE): This role will be part of the Digital Therapies Team, which is hosted within the North Ayrshire Adult Psychological Therapies Team. The service offers evidence-based psychological interventions via the Silvercloud platform to the residents of Ayrshire and Arran, with dedicated clinical and administrative support.
Your role will involve enhancing and supporting the professional psychological care of patients within this specialized service, providing guidance and assistance in utilizing online resources. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing patient progress and engagement in interventions under the weekly clinical supervision of a qualified professional psychologist. This will include developing informational resources, conducting literature reviews, and educating other professional staff on psychological care aspects. You will also engage in research, service evaluation, and audits under the supervision of a clinical psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed upon with a qualified psychologist and within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Applicants must possess a 2:i Honours Degree in Psychology and be eligible for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society.
Experience in health, social, or voluntary care settings is essential.
A solid understanding of psychological models from your undergraduate studies is required.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.

Work Hours: 37 hours per week.
Contract Type: This is a fixed-term/secondment opportunity for 12 months from the start date.
