Job Title: Academy HR Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Director to join our team at Reed. As an Academy HR Director, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of all aspects of HR and office operations for our leading Operations and Maintenance specialist in the utility-scale ground-mounted solar farms sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaboration and Support: Work closely with the Head of Finance & HR to ensure seamless HR and office operations.
  • Supervision and Management: Supervise the Office and Field Manager, including fleet management, asset availability, and IT support.
  • Staff Management: Maintain up-to-date staff details and training records; manage contract changes like promotions and pay rises.
  • HR Administration: Administer the PDR and Year-End Annual Leave processes.
  • Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures: Handle disciplinary, grievance, and competency processes with third-party HR support, ensuring compliance with employment law.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Regularly review staff compliance with company policies and address any issues.
  • Internal Communications: Manage internal communications.
  • Recruitment and Induction: Oversee recruitment, induction, and probation processes for new hires.
  • Payroll and HR Processes: Assist with payroll preparation.
  • Process Improvement: Improve and automate HR processes.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate role-appropriate training courses for staff.
  • Employee Engagement: Implement employee engagement and morale initiatives.
  • Employment Law Compliance: Ensure company adherence to employment law with HR support.
  • Integrated Management System: Work according to the company's Integrated Management System to achieve Quality, H&S, and Environmental objectives.
  • Business Ethics: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes, including the anti-bribery policy.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or organisation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Proactive with strong organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with a flexible mindset.
