We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Community Mental Health Team and Memory Service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality psychological assessments and interventions to individuals with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of clients referred to our teams, utilizing complex data from various sources.
- Formulate and implement plans for formal psychological treatment and/or management of clients' mental health problems, based on an appropriate conceptual framework and evidence.
- Provide a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families, and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations as needed.
- Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options, taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models, as well as highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes.
- Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by psychologically based standard care plans.
- Provide specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients' formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plan.
- Contribute directly and indirectly to a psychologically based framework or understanding and care to the benefit of all clients or the service, across all settings and agencies.
- Undertake risk assessment and management for individual clients and provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.
- Act as lead professional, where appropriate, taking responsibility for initiating planning and review of care plans, including clients, their carers, referring agents, and others involved in the network of care.
- Satisfactory completion of a British Psychological Society accredited Doctoral Level postgraduate professional training course in clinical or counselling psychology.
- Eligibility for entry onto the HCPC Register of Practitioner Psychologists.
- Experience of working under supervision in secondary care mental health services.
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and the delivery of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based interventions with service users who have a range of psychological needs of a complex nature.
- Experience of carrying out post-doctoral research, audit, or service evaluation projects.
