Organisation- Heath House Preparatory School

Position- French Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities

Duties

  • Provide academic support to pupils in French language and culture, working under the guidance of the Class Teacher, Key Stage Lead, and Head Teacher.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes for pupils and monitor their progress.
  • Support pupils with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
  • Assist with lunchtimes and break-times, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all pupils.
  • Contribute to homework club and extra-curricular clubs, promoting a love of learning and cultural exchange.
  • Supervise playtime and structured activities during Summer School, promoting physical activity and social interaction.
  • Engage with and enrich play with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Plan and deliver language lessons, demonstrating an excellent knowledge of French and adhering to the Heath House curriculum.
  • Mark work accurately, in line with the school's Marking Policy.
  • Prepare and present displays of pupils' work, showcasing their achievements and progress.
  • Support class teachers with administrative tasks, such as photocopying and record-keeping.
  • Keep up to date with school policy documents and adhere to the school's Health & Safety policy and Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Attend school events, including performances, fayres, Parents' Evenings, trips, and overnight residential trips.

Standards and Quality Assurance

  • Act in a professional manner at all times, setting a good example for pupils and colleagues.
  • Support the aims, ethos, and values of the school, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Take an active role in professional development, attending training courses offered by Heath House Preparatory School.
