Job Summary:

The Hospital Billing Coordinator will facilitate all phases of the billing process under the direction of the Accounts Receivable Supervisor. This role is responsible for submitting paper and electronic claims to all payers, following up on current and past due accounts, and assisting with reporting and analysis of accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Submit paper and electronic claims to all payers in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follow up on current and past due accounts with third-party payers to ensure timely payment.
  • Assist the Accounts Receivable Supervisor with reporting, analysis, and trending of accounts receivable.
  • Function as a billing liaison to patients, providers, and insurance carriers to ensure accurate reimbursement on claims.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve billing and payment issues.

Requirements:

  • High school degree required; associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare environment or accounts receivable.
  • Knowledge of third-party payers, medical terminology, word processing, statistical tools, and computer applications, including Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and typing skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and judgments when addressing accounts receivable.
