Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and proactive professional for the role of Lead Clinical Psychologist for Youth Services . The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, guiding, and managing the delivery of a comprehensive, high-quality psychological therapy service tailored for adolescents and their families engaging with specialized mental health programs.
This role is situated within a dedicated unit that provides intensive, multi-faceted interventions aimed at the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of severe mental health conditions in young people aged 12 to 18. You will collaborate with a diverse clinical team, including psychiatrists, therapists, nursing staff, and educators, to ensure the delivery of effective care. The environment can be challenging, requiring resilience and adaptability in the face of complex situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct psychological services while providing consultation and supervision to fellow professionals within the clinical team and across various care sectors.
- Develop and implement service enhancements to ensure timely and appropriate interventions, integrating current research, available resources, and relevant policies.
- Oversee and mentor the psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions conducted by other psychologists and clinical team members.
- Operate independently within established professional guidelines, ensuring the systematic governance of psychological practices.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments for all off-site activities, ensuring that each young person has a comprehensive risk management plan in collaboration with the nursing team.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of activities and relevant information regarding each young person's mental health status.
- Participate in team meetings and handovers, providing insights on patient progress and contributing to collaborative decision-making.
