About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Hitachi Energy UK as a Systems Test Engineer, working on power systems engineering projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and directing comprehensive test plans, managing procedures and schedules, and coordinating integrated testing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the Power Systems Architecture and Control (PSAC) team on matters related to protection engineering.
  • Provide technical support to other protection team members and the sales and tendering team.
  • Act as a focal point for customer approval activities, such as Type Registration and project-specific design freezes.
  • Support the evaluation of customer requirements and answer technical queries during project deliveries.
  • Comply with protection systems design and business processes/procedures.
  • Prepare documentation, including technical specifications, reports, diagrams, test specifications, IED configurations, and design drawings.
  • Participate in internal kick-off meetings to share experience and knowledge with projects.
  • Contribute to conceptual and detailed design engineering, providing engineering solutions to end customers.

Your Background

  • Power Systems engineering-related education or equivalent (HNC or BTEC minimum qualification).
  • Strong design and coordination capability and experience in the engineering discipline of Power Systems.
  • High technical experience required, with awareness of 2nd injection test sets.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external teams and customers.
  • Experience within the Electricity Supply Industry.
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills.
