About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Physiologist to join our Diagnostic Cardiology team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality services in cardiac device implantation, electrophysiology, and invasive physiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Invasive Cardiac Physiology Service by providing expert-level work that meets organizational, professional, and individual needs.
  • Undertake simple and complex cardiac device implantation and follow-up in accordance with departmental and BHRS guidelines.
  • Participate in the 24/7 on-call rota for PPCI and urgent cardiac device follow-up and implant.
  • Conduct and support all other invasive and non-invasive investigations as required.
  • Provide leadership, training, and education to staff, enabling them to develop clinical skills and competencies required for delivering high-quality invasive services.
  • Work alongside senior team members to deliver an in-house invasive physiology training program.
Requirements
  • MSc Clinical Science (Cardiac, Vascular, Respiratory, and Sleep Sciences) or other relevant Level 7 academic qualification.
  • BHRS/IBHRE/EHRA accreditation in CRM or EP.
  • Active membership of the BHRS.
  • Registration with RCCP, AHCS, or HCPC.
  • SCST parts I & II (if applicable to qualification route).
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Immediate Life Support.
  • Teaching or managerial qualification/experience.
  • Registered as a Clinical Scientist with the HCPC.
  • Demonstrate Continual Professional Development.
Working Arrangements

This is a full-time position with flexible working hours and a 24/7 on-call commitment. The successful candidate will be required to work over 7 days, including weekends and bank holidays.
