About the Role

Vestas is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Deputy Technical Project Manager to join our team in Edinburgh or Warrington, United Kingdom. As a key member of our Front End Engineering & Technical Project Management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our offshore wind projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Technical Project Manager in ensuring the technical aspects of the project are delivered on time, to budget, and to the required safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate technical deliverables and provide support throughout all stages of the construction project.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the offshore market and customer requirements, as well as offshore operational knowledge.
  • Network to build relationships with key technical stakeholders in customers' organizations, promoting their requirements inside Vestas and ensuring successful project execution.
  • Act as a liaison between the Offshore Construction Project Execution and VTO (technology organization) on respective projects and topics.

Requirements

  • Engineering background (Electrical, Mechanical, Marine, or related) combined with commercial insight/interest, or commercial background with solid interest in technical aspects.
  • Experience in directing technical negotiations, ideally of heavy machinery, power plant equipment, or similar.
  • Previous experience in wind energy or industrial plant environment is beneficial.
  • Strong project management skills are beneficial.
  • Fluency in business English, both spoken and written, is required; additional Scandinavian or European languages are an advantage.
  • Flexibility for travel is required.

  • Ability to be flexible, organized, and collaborative, with proven experience working in dynamic and high-pressure tendering and/or construction environments.
  • Results-oriented, with the ability to be innovative and creative in building a technical value proposition and exploring value optimization opportunities.
  • High level of customer focus, with a holistic understanding of how technical solutions impact a business case commercially and contractually.
  • Professional presentation skills, with the ability and confidence to present to business unit management.
