We are seeking a highly motivated Trainee Accounting Technician to join our team at Westcotts office in Plymouth. As a Trainee Accounting Technician, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and develop your skills in accounting and taxation services.

About the Role

This is a permanent position with flexible and hybrid working available. You will be studying for your AAT qualification under an apprenticeship agreement, which includes learning the fundamentals of bookkeeping and accounting standards, as well as personal and business tax.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial information, reports, and returns for a wide range of clients, both businesses and individuals.
  • Use computer software to record financial transactions and prepare personal and company tax computations, regular VAT returns, and bookkeeping services.
  • Help in information gathering to analyse and report information about income and expenditure to support decision making, planning, and control.
Requirements

We are looking for a strong track record in obtaining qualifications, often indicated by strong results in GCSE's, A-levels (or equivalent). Good working knowledge of Word and Excel is also essential.

As a Trainee Accounting Technician, you will receive regular pay reviews and opportunities to progress and gain further qualifications. We will fund your training and pay you your normal salary on the days you attend classes or time in the office to study.
