About the Role

The Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Psychologist to join our Weight Management Service. As an Assistant Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the provision of psychological assessment and intervention within the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake psychological assessments and interventions as part of the multi-professional team and as delegated by the clinical psychologists.
  • Support the clinical psychologists to undertake clinically relevant research, service evaluation, and audit.
  • Support the clinical psychologists to undertake teaching and training.
  • Carry out other duties as part of the role and as delegated by the clinical psychologist.
  • Manage and maintain appropriate records and administration.

Requirements

  • Good honours degree in Psychology (First or Second Class).
  • Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the BPS.
  • Experience of working within a healthcare setting (NHS or comparable provider).

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice, and/or research design and analysis.
  • Previous paid employment as an Assistant Psychologist within the NHS or a demonstrable interest/experience in working with weight and eating related distress.
